Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust delivers services across three main sites: Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Clifton Hospital and Fleetwood Hospital. It is a provider of specialist tertiary care for cardiac and haematology services across this region. 

The Trust provides a range of acute services to the 330,000 population of the Fylde Coast health economy and the estimated 11 million visitors to the seaside town of Blackpool. Since 1st April 2012, the Trust also provides a wide range of community health services to the 445,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde, Wyre and North Lancashire.

It also hosts the National Artificial Eye Service, which provides services across England.

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides an integrated community and mental health service, with community services commissioned by the Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). Its services span a geographical area that encompasses 1.4 million people, and includes services within the remit of adult community, adult mental health and children and families.

There are two Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in our area; NHS Blackpool CCG and NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG. Although they remain separate statutory organisations, the two CCGs on the Fylde Coast work very closely together to make sure people living across the region receive the best possible care in the most efficient and cost-effective way. The CCGs have full delegated responsibility from NHS England to commission GP primary medical services, while NHS England commissions specialised services directly.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) provides accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport, 365 days a year. NWAS also provides non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. The NHS 111 helpline and online service is also delivered by NWAS too.

Social care services are commissioned and provided by Blackpool Council and Lancashire County Council, There are also two district councils, Fylde Council and Wyre Council.
